I have seen, that you are going to send an expedition down to the southern seas and up to the amazone river, and this expedition is prepared to take photografs of the shores
I take the liberty to ask you, if you will give me permission to join the expedition, as a painter. Fore art sake will it be very interesting and (teaching) to take studys of the tropic nature [og] an occasion to come up amazone river happen very seldom.
You will hereby find som recommendations, and other can be given of the danish consul Wall street 59, and Mr. J. Piermont Morgan Wall street 31.
