Dokumentindhold

Dear Sir.
Perhaps you might remember me, when I last April called on you together with Mr. H.G. Spearing. You showed me your collection of byzantine Icones, which we discussed.
In the byzantine art, you know, there is a school, called the cretan school.
I Athens, in private collections, there is to be found paintings of thist shool.
I have started a work, for
which I very much need a couple (2-3) of photographs from good representative cretan paintings. Not of the virgin with the child, but of compositions.
The photographs can not be bought at the art publishers shops, but one of the collectors might be in possession of some. Or perhaps it might not be so very expensive to let two be photographed for me.
I should be very obliged to you if you would do me the service to procure me this photographs, and give me a small description of the photographed Icones.
Par exemple their dimensions and colours. I have no other acquaintance in Athens.
The expenses might be sent me by "mandat de poste"
Hoping you will not be to annoyed over all this trouble.
I am yours very obliged
